China Buys 1.04 Million MT US Wheat

 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Tuesday private export sales of 1.04 million metric tons of U.S. wheat for delivery to China.

 

Of that total, 300,000 tons is soft red winter for delivery in the 2003-04 marketing year, 670,000 is soft red winter for delivery in 2004-05 and 70,000 tons is white wheat for delivery in 2004-05.

 

The wheat marketing year begins June 1.

 

U.S. exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tons or more of wheat made in the same day to the same destination by 1500 ET (2000 GMT) the next business day, according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service. Any export sales under 100,000 tons must be reported on a weekly basis.
