Cambodia Bans Poultry Imports From Vietnam and Thailand Following Bird Flu Epidemic
The Cambodian government announced Tuesday a temporary ban on poultry imports from neighboring countries Vietnam and Thailand following the outbreak of bird flu and other poultry diseases in those countries.
''In order to prevent the spread of the disease into the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries declares to ban temporarily the imports, the transport, purchase and sales of birds, of birds' eggs, of fresh and refrigerated birds' meat and of products originated from domestic and wild birds from the countries where Bird influenza has broken out,'' the government said in a statement.
