Taiwan Feed Group Seeking 42,000-56,000 MT US Corn

Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group is seeking offers by 0630 GMT Thursday to make a purchase of 42,000-56,000 metric tons of U.S. corn in a tender, said a trader Tuesday.

Shipment dates will be Feb. 15-29 from the U.S. Gulf, or March 1-15 from the Pacific Northwest, said the trader who received the tender notice.

Dec. 24, MFIG bought 42,000 tons of U.S. No. 2 corn from Agrex, Inc. in a tender. Of the total, MFIG purchased 2,000 tons at US$121.06 a ton, free on board. The remaining 40,000 tons were purchased at a premium of 67.50 U.S. cents a bushel to the Chicago Board of Trade' March corn contract, FOB. The freight cost is around US$42/ton. Shipment dates will be Feb. 16 to March 1 from the Pacific Northwest.
