More Vietnam aquaculture firms allowed to export to key global markets
Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's National Authority for Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality, Processing, and Market Development (NAFIQPM) has announced that an additional 99 aquaculture establishments in the country received licenses to export to significant markets, including South Korea, the European Union, China, the United States, and Russia during 2023, Vietnam Plus reported.
Specifically, the licensing includes 38 establishments for shipping aquatic products to South Korea, bringing the total number of exporters to 786 for this market. The figures stand at 13 and 524 for the EU market, 45 and 585 for China, one and 26 for the US, and two and 83 for the Russian market.
Moreover, export codes were granted to 6,997 growing areas and 1,613 packaging establishments, facilitating smoother export processes.
In 2023, the country achieved significant success in the international trade of agro-forestry-aquatic products, recording a revenue of US$53.01 billion.
