Russia's Altai Region to spend US$6 million for dairy production
To finance a programme for the region's dairy production development through 2016, Russia's Altai Region authorities are to spend RUB212 million (US$6.7 million), a regional directorate for the food processing and pharmaceutical industry source said Wednesday (Jan 11).
Following the programme's implementation, dairy output in the region is expected to increase by 10.4% in 2016, while income from dairy product sales are to rise by 50.1%, the source added.
Under the programme, regional authorities plan to re-equip dairy production facilities in the region, increase competitiveness, promote local producers, and improve the employment situation among the rural population, the source said.
