UK's Treatt to supply flavour and fragrance ingredients for animal feed
The Feed Material Assurance Scheme (FEMAS) has allowed Treatt plc, a flavour and fragrance ingredient supplier, to provide its essential oils and aromatic chemicals for animal feed.
Treatt can now provide ingredients to meet the needs of flavour houses creating formulations for animal feed and animal feed producers. All of FEMAS-approved items to animal feed producers will have a declaration of "FEMAS assured" on Treatt's delivery documents.
FEMAS is a scheme that is based on HACCP principles and good operational practices, aiming to identify any potentially harmful ingredients used in animal feed to ensure the supply of safe feed materials to farms and feed producers.
Treatt plc supplies raw materials to flavour and fragrance compounders, and food, beverage, soap, perfume, cosmetic and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The company exports to over 90 countries worldwide.
