Australia's 2004 Beef Exports To Japan At Record High

Exports of Australian beef to Japan in 2004 surged 40.9% from the previous year to an all-time high of 393,471 tons, an association of Australian beef producers said Tuesday.

With this latest figure, which exceeds the record of 325,699 tons posted in 2000, Japan is now Australia's largest beef export market, surpassing the United States, said a source from Meat & Livestock Australia.
