EU soybean imports up slightly from previous year

European Union's soybean imports during the current 2023/24 season, commencing in July, have reached 6.00 million metric tonnes by January 7, 2024, a slight increase from the 5.96 million recorded the previous year, XM reported.
This information, revealed by data from the European Commission on Tuesday, highlights the stability in soybean imports.
The import figures for other key commodities, according to data from the European Commission reveal a decrease in soymeal imports, which stood at 7.54 million tonnes, down from 8.60 million tonnes in the previous year.
The commission highlighted a gap in import data for Italy since December 20, 2023.
