Lysine prices stay soft on subdued demand in China

Lysine prices were mostly unchanged during the week ending January 9.

Demand for feed additives was slack as feed millers, who were not confident in the pre-Chinese New Year market, chose to stand on the side line. Moreover, weak export demand, resulting from a strong renminbi, and soft soymeal prices, exerted further pressure on lysine market.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine were unchanged at RMB4.60-5.20/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1533 (Jan 10)
