Azerbaijan's Xemse to raise up to 30 million egg output
Xemse, a poultry enterprise located in Absheron district's settlement Zira, will bring up the egg output volume to 25-30 million annually from the second half of this year, said Xemse director Murvat Hasanli.
"The production process at the plant on the basis of modern technologies was launched eight weeks ago. Roughly 500,000 breeding eggs were produced during this period," Hasanli said.
The company received a loan from the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund worth AZN1.8 million (US$2.22 million) last April to organise the production of breeding eggs on the basis of advanced technologies. The total cost of this project is estimated at AZN4.2 million (US$5.18 million).
Modern technologies for the company were brought from Holland, Turkey and Italy.
He said that at present, the company imported 90,000 breeding chickens from England.
"Previously, tribal eggs were imported from Turkey, Iran and Russia, and incubated in Azerbaijan to further sell chickens," he further said.
The country's demand for breeding eggs is 80-90 million.
