Vietnam and China continue joint fisheries exploration
Vietnam and China have continued a joint fisheries exploration in the Gulf of Tonkin, which is a common fishing area of both countries. The joint exploration would last through 2007.
Each country may select two experts to work on the other side's ship during the exploration, which would be conducted simultaneously off the coasts of Vietnam's Haiphong city and China's Beihai city in Guangxi province.
After the exploration is completed, experts from both sides would study the results and submit reports to the Vietnam-China Joint Committee for Gulf of Tonkin Fisheries. Both countries would then make adjustments to seafood exploitation levels in the common fishing area.
