Bird flu kills thousands of poultry in northwest China
The recent bird flu outbreak in Xinjiang region, northwest China killed 4,850 birds, according to Xinhua News Agency.
Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of bird flu, which resulted to the slaughter of 29,383 birds in the area.
The last outbreak happened in September 2007, killing 9,830 ducks in southern China near Hong Kong.
