Suspected Hog Cholera Claims Lives of 65 Pigs

A new suspected case of hog cholera resulted in slaughter of sixty-five piglets at a farm in Yeongdong in eastern South Korea, officials said Tuesday.

Officials at the Yeongdong County office said they buried alive 65 baby pigs which were being raised in the same pigpen with scores of 40-day-old pigs believed to have infected with hog cholera. Three of them died after suffering diarrhea.
