China takes up 175,000 MT US Wheat

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Tuesday that the destination for export sales of 175,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat was switched to China from the previously announced "unknown" category.

The USDA said 105,000 tons of that total is hard red spring wheat and 70,000 tons is white wheat.

Delivery is for the 2003-04 marketing year, which began June 1.

U.S. exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tons or more of wheat made in the same day to the same destination by 1500 ET (2000 GMT) the next business day, according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service. Any export sales under 100,000 tons must be reported on a weekly basis.
