South Carolina hatchery to use Pas Reform's SmartPro™ system

Pas Reform's SmartPro™ incubation systems will be incorporated in the development of House of Raeford's US$16 million broiler hatchery project.

The new plant will be based in South Carolina in the US and is expected to produce more than a million birds on four hatch days/week, upon completion.

Manned by 20 people, the hatchery will employ Pas Reform's SmartPro™ setters and hatchers, a complete HVAC system and an entire range of hatchery automation systems.

The technology is a single stage incubation that facilitates precise, zonal temperature control, delivering a higher hatch of fertile and superior chick uniformity.

Operations will be fully automated to boost bio-security, with a 'Track and Trace' functionality as an integral part of quality control and hatch cycle analysis provided by SmartCenterPro™, Pas Reform's most advanced hatchery information software.

The construction of the hatchery is projected to last up to 18 months, with system development managed by NatureForm Hatchery Technologies. Currently, the company is in a partnership with Pas Reform and has access to its SmartPro™ technology.

Taking the helm of the facility's operations is House of Raeford, one of US' largest chicken processors, with construction undertaken by its affiliate company, Columbia Farms.

The hatchery will source a yearly quota of 40 million chickens from 87 contract growers.
