ForFarmers transfers non-core exports to Nutreco

ForFarmers B.V. ("ForFarmers") has transferred its export business for non-core countries to Nutreco with effect from January 1, 2015, as part of its strategic partnership with the company.

This business with a sales turnover of US$10.15 million, is predominantly focussed on young animal feed exported from the United Kingdom. This transfer has no impact on the ForFarmers, young animal feed business in the four key countries of operation Netherlands, UK, Germany and Belgium - where young animal feed remain a key part of the Total Feed Business offering.

The international export business was started in 1994. As the company believes that it is important to maintain customer relationships built as the business moves forward, a number of BOCM PAULS international brands will be licensed to Nutreco, for a period of time.

In making its decision, ForFarmers had reviewed the combined strengths of both companies and had concluded that their international markets for young animal feed are best served in the longer term by utilising the strengths of Nutreco.

"Our distributors and customers should see very little change as a result of the transfer, other than in time production is likely to be transferred to specialist production plants in Europe where the local needs for each country may be better served." CEO of ForFarmers Yoram Knoop said.
