Dominican Republic to boost swine production with new decree

The Dominican Republic has implemented a new decree focused on advancing swine production within the country, aiming to aims to streamline the registration process, enhance surveillance measures, and enable early detection of diseases that could potentially impact this crucial sector, Dominican Today reported.
One of the key aspects outlined in the decree is the essential requirements for the management of waste and by-products in swine production. By addressing these critical elements, the Dominican Republic seeks to fortify the foundations of pig farming, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in the industry.
As part of the decree's directives, the country's Ministry of Agriculture is mandated to formulate and release regulations in alignment with Law no. 4030, dated January 13, 1955. These regulations will be intricately tailored to align with the provisions outlined in article 1 of the decree.
The decree is poised to facilitate seamless compliance, fostering improved management practices and the overall development of the swine production industry in the Dominican Republic.
