Lower export tariffs and improved market access for Australian lamb and beef in 2021

David Littleproud, Australia's Federal Minister for Agriculture, announced tariff cuts and boosted market access for the country's key agricultural and food export commodities such as lamb and beef across several countries such as Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam, AgForce reported.

The minister said the tariff cuts and better market access have come through the signing of the the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and other Free Trade Agreements (FTA).

He said Australia's total value of exports to CPTPP economies for agricultural and food commodities was AUD 8.4 billion (~US$6.4 billion; AUD 1 = US$0.77) in 2019-20.
