China to see first batch of cattle from Chile

The consignment is a herd of 7,300 heifers with 52% coming from Chilean farms in the Los Lagos region, 40% from the Región of Los Ríos and the rest from Biobio and Araucania.

Chile's minister of agriculture, Carlos Furche said, "With this, an additional line of business for livestock has opened up, which strengthens the dairy industry, which has doubled its production in the last ten years."

According to him, the export will generate income and better quality of life for thousands of medium-sized farmers.

The export was the result of a trade mission that the Secretary of State of Chile made in September last year.

The shipment to China will take 26 days.
