USDA says 410,000 tonnes of corn sold to Mexico

Private exporters reported to the US Department of Agriculture export sales of 410,000 tonnes of corn for delivery to Mexico. There are 320,000 tonnes set for delivery during the 2007/08 marketing year and 90,000 tonnes for delivery during the 2006/07 marketing year, the USDA said Thursday (Jan 4).

The 2006/07 marketing year for corn began Sep 1.

US exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tonnes or more of any commodity made in the same day to the same destination by 3:00 pm EDT (2000 GMT) the next business day, according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service. Any export sales under 100,000 tonnes must be reported on a weekly basis.
