US grain futures up, livestock prices mixed

US grains futures were up Monday (Jan 3) on the CBOT while beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Wheat for March delivery added US$0.1125 to US$8.0550 a bushel; March corn fell US$0.085 to US$6.2050 a bushel; March oats gained US$0.04 to US$3.98 a bushel; while soy for March delivery fell US$0.24 to US$13.79 a bushel.

February live cattle fell US$0.0138 to US$1.0697 a pound; March feeder cattle fell US$0.093 to US$1.2302 a pound; February lean hogs fell US$0.178 to US$0.7797 a pound; while February pork bellies fell US$0.050 at US$1.06 a pound.
