More than 300 pigs died from ASF in Myagdi, Nepal
Several pigs have started dying of African swine fever (ASF) in Myagdi, Nepal.
According to the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Expert Center Myagdi, more than 300 pigs have died so far due to the infection in Beni and rural areas of the district.
Chief of the center Jeevan Prasad Acharya informed that ASF was confirmed in the samples taken from some farms. The disease was confirmed first in a pig farm in Annapurna rural municipality-2.
The animal services branch of the Beni Municipality said that 250 pigs have died in Mangalaghat, Beni Municipality-7.
Meanwhile, pig farmers have called for an awareness programme to control the disease in the district.
