US reports new record high of PED cases

Since the outbreak began, figures for new cases of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea (PED) have made the last week's total the highest.

The American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) is due to update its 'New Cases Report' for the week of December 22 soonest.

The Association reports that 116 new cases were added during the week but no new states reported cases.

Moreover, the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) added 66 new cases to those reported during the week of December 15, making last week's total of 185 the highest since beginning of the outbreak.
