Pakistan Poultry Prices Forecast To Rise

 

Poultry prices in Pakistan is set to rise despite smooth supplies from the production areas, thin demand and frequent imports.

 

Poultry live bird prices shot up to Rs84 from Rs80 per kg followed by rise in its meat prices to Rs135-140 from Rs130 per kg. Egg prices increased to Rs47 from Rs41 a dozen, a price survey from December 1, 2004 to January 1, 4005 revealed.

 

General Secretary Karachi Wholesalers' Poultry Association (KWPA), Kamal Akhtar Siddiqui attributed the price hike to slow-down in bird production all over the country. Besides, the demand of poultry bird has also been very slack these days.
