Canada's Piller's Fine to distribute Campofrio products

A leading Canadian manufacturer of specialty European deli meats, Piller's Fine Foods, will be the distributor of Campofrio cured meats in Canada.

The Campofrio line includes Jamón Ibérico and Jamón Serrano, the finest of dry cured hams, and other Spanish charcuterie such as Chorizo Clásico and Chorizo Sarta. The products are currently available at Loblaw, Zehrs, and Real Canadian Superstore locations.

Shuanghui International Holdings Ltd. on December 23 joined Sigma Alimentos S.A. in a proposed cash tender offer for shares of Madrid, Spain-based Campofrio Food Group. Shuanghui and Sigma own approximately 82% of Campofrio's outstanding shares.

Piller's Fine Foods' headquarters, production plant and distribution centre are located in Waterloo, Ontario, with operations in Brantford, Toronto and Arthur, Ontario.
