EU grants soft wheat export licenses for 374,000 tonnes  

The European Union has granted export licenses for 374,000 tonnes of soft wheat for the week ended December 22.

 

This takes total EU wheat exports 25 weeks into the marketing year to 8.2 million tonnes, down from the 11 million tonnes exported over the same period the previous year.

 

Grain exports totalled 10.1 million tonnes 25 weeks into the marketing year, compared with 16.5 million tonnes for the same period the previous year.

 

The EU also granted licenses to import 23,000 tonnes of wheat for the week ended December 22, taking total wheat imports for the first 25 weeks of the year to 2.2 million tonnes.

 

Total grain imports for the first 25 weeks of the marketing year were five million tonnes, down from 6.6 million tonnes over the same period the previous year.
