Australia AWB Sells 250,000 MT Wheat To Pakistan
Australia's AWB Ltd. has sold 250,000 metric tons of white wheat to Pakistan under a tender that closed Wednesday.
Precise terms could not be confirmed, but the state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan is believed to have paid AWB around US$204.50/ton, including insurance and freight.
AWB is a publicly listed company owned by growers and holds a monopoly on the export of bulk wheat from Australia.
The sale was part of 400,000-ton tender by Pakistan, with Canada supplying the 150,000-ton balance, sources said. Shipment is expected during the first quarter of 2005.
