China's buying of Brazilian soy increases 22.7% in Jan - Nov 2015
China's acquisition of Brazilian soy rose 22.7% year-on-year in January - November 2015, to a volume of 39.06 million tonnes, according to Brazil's Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).
The November sales of the South American nation's soy - including beans, meal and oil - to China spiked significantly by 297%, with a delivery amount of 2.14 million tonnes and at an average price of US$405.99 per tonne.
A key factor contributing to the higher trade volume is the Brazilian real's devaluation against the USD, rendering the country's soy to be at a more competitive advantage compared to the US.
On the other hand, US soy exports to China in November declined by close to 9%, to 4.25 million tonnes, Macauhub reported.
