Pakistan signs Memorandum to support poultry industry
The government of Punjab, Pakistan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two poultry producers, Big Bird and Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), to increase poultry production in the country.
It is believed that the MoU will pave the way for the export of poultry as well as establishing a new meat processing plant near Lahore.
Vice Chairman of PBIT, Rizwan Khan, said that the government of Punjab was taking all possible measures to make the province a hub of business activities and the MoU with Big Bird was a part of Investment Promotion Strategy launched by the chief minister of Punjab.
Abdul Basit, CEO of Big Bird, said that the MoU would have far reaching impact on the poultry sector by creating new job opportunities and enabling the country to earn much needed foreign exchange.
