South Korea sees growing AH1N1 infection at pig farms
Another case of AH1N1 infection at a South Korean swine farm was reported on Tuesday (Dec. 29), adding to the country's growing list of pigs infected with the virus.
According to local reports, the latest outbreak occurred in a pig farm in Jeungup, Jeolla Province, making it the 16th confirmed AH1N1 infection since the middle of this month.
Health authorities suspect that these recently infected pigs might have contracted the virus from humans. South Korea's farm ministry plans to quarantine measures and vaccinate hog industry and health workers to curb further spread.
