South Dakota's red meat output decreases in November
Red meat production in US state South Dakota was down 3% in November from the previous month.
The state produced 75.1 million pounds of commercial red meat in November, down 8% from the same month in 2008, according to the South Dakota office of the National Agriculture Statistics Service.
Commercial hog slaughter in South Dakota totalled 339,600 head in November, compared to 371,500 head a year before. The average live weight was 262 pounds, up two pounds from November 2008.
