Prices fell as traders cleared old inventories. Meanwhile, trade improved while buyers prepare for the pre-Spring Festival demand surge.

In the north, transacted prices of imported vitamin A were in the range of RMB165-178/kg. Transacted prices of locally produced vitamin A registered between RMB155/ kg and RMB170/kg; some big volume deals were concluded at slightly lower price levels. Prices in the south were slightly lower as traders tried hard to release old stocks.

General market prices of imported vitamin "A1,000" by a foreign producer were between RMB300/kg and RMB320/kg.

Vitamin A prices are seen weak in the near term despite higher festive demand.
