Dutch Dumerco takes over Slachthuis Groenlo
Dutch slaughter business Dumerco has announced plans to acquire pork processor Slachthuis Groenlo.
The Board of Management of the slaughterhouse Slachthuis Groenlo is to sell both Slachthuis Groenlo and EuroMeat Groenlo to Dumeco to assure the future of the company.
Dumeco, part of the Vion Group, will submit the proposed acquisition to the Netherlands Competition Authority for approval.
Slachthuis Groenlo, a modern production plant, specialises in the slaughter of sows. A new slaughterhouse was built in the year 2000 after a fire gazetted the premises. The modern plant can process both hogs and sows into products which are sold all over the EU.
Pending a decision from the Netherlands Competition Authority, Slachthuis Groenlo will continue its activities as before.
