Dakota Beef acquires grain elevators in Kansas

Dakota Beef-- based in Howard, South Dakota-- bought 12 grain elevators from Quinter, Kansas- Midwest Cooperative in a debt, equity and cash transaction valued at about US$7.6 million.

Dakota Beef CEO and founder Scott Lively said the company has already a contacted a management firm to run the elevator business.

Lively said they are actively seeking elevators or coops with large portions of organic grains.

All 12 of the Midwest Cooperative elevators are in Kansas.
