Brazilian company sees 30 percent growth in Arab egg market

Naturovos, a company from the south-eastern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul that started exporting eggs to the Arab market only 10 months back currently turns 25 percent of foreign sales to Dubai, Qatar and Oman.

This figure might go up by 30 percent next year.

The Brazilian company sees huge growth in the Arab market, stated the company export manager, Anderson Muller Herbert.

Naturovos currently has four Arab customers, two in Dubai, UAE, one in Qatar and another in Oman. The company exports 10 containers every month, each holding 450,000 eggs, said Herbert.

Naturovos also has plans of selling yolks and whites separately to supply some food industries. Another novelty by the company would be the production of powdered eggs, to begin in September.

Arabs however, insist on every shipment to have production date, validity, country of origin and name of the producer printed on it. Stickers are also put on the eggs with information about the product.

Currently, 65 percent of Naturovos' production goes to the foreign market.
