Japan's October compound feed output falls

Japan's total compound feed output fell 5.4% in October from last year to 2.076 million tonnes and it is the sixth straight month of on-year declines, according to the Agriculture Ministry data.

In September, total output of compound feed for animals fell 2.8% from a year earlier to 1.957 million tonnes.

Japan is the world's biggest importer of corn, the main ingredient in animal feed in Japan. The US is its main supplier of corn for feed use. Japanese corn production is negligible.
