Jilin's grain exports rate declines

China's Jilin province grain export growth rate declined from 45.5 percent in July to 27.5 percent in November, with an export value drop of US$700 million.

Industry insiders are not optimistic about the grain and its product exports in the coming 2008, believing that the grain export growth rate may further slow down.

The slowing of Jilian's grain exports is attributed to China's reduction or abolishment of export rebate rates on 1,300 types of products since July 1, 2007.

Furthermore, the stop of export rebates on 84 types of raw grain and their powder on December 20 also casts unfavorable factors to the province's exports.
