Market analysis

Piglet prices slid further amid weak replenishment interest. Price falls were especially prominent in the southern provinces.

As the temperature fell drastically in the northern parts of China, swine farmers held back piglet procurements fearing the high risks and rearing costs involved under extreme weather conditions.

Market forecast

The weak sentiments in the piglet markets are unlikely to improve within a short period. Prices are seen to weaken further.
