China's Jinhua Ham to come with place of origin logo
Jinhua City in China's Zhejiang province is ordering place of origin logos to be carried on all hams originating from the city.
Jinhua ham is considered a delicacy in China and commands a premium several times over that of conventional hams.
In order to prevent the 'Jinhua Ham' brand from being infringed upon by other producers and to strictly control the quality of ham, the 'Jinhua Ham' place of origin logo management office in the city said all its ham products will now carry a place of origin logo.
The new rules will apply to the batch to be sold in 2008.
