China lysine producers slash prices

Lysine prices dropped considerably during the week ending December 23.

Feed millers continued to make procurements but at a cautious pace as the outlook of the livestock market remained uncertain while soymeal prices stayed weak. Hence, several major producers who stood firm recently were compelled to cut prices to clear piling stocks.

Price quotes of 65-percent lysine and 70-percent lysine were at RMB5/kg and RMB5.80-6.20/kg respectively.

RMB1=US$0.1606 (Dec 24)
