Brazil's November pork export volume, value down on-year

 
 

Compared to the same period in 2012, Brazil's volume and value of pork exported during November declined.

 

According to the latest figures from ABIPECS (Brazilian Pork Industry and Exporters Association), Brazil exported almost 39 tonnes of pork in November, down 24.3% compared to 51.09 tonnes in the same month last year. The total volume of pork exported from January to November 2013 was 480 tonnes compared to 541.06 tonnes during the same period last year, indicating a drop of 11%.

 

The value of pork exported this November was US$102.55, down by 25.32% compared to November 2012, where the figure stood at US$137.32. The total value of pork exported during January to November 2013 was US$1,258.2, compared to US$1,391.5 during the same period last year, down by 9.5%.

 

The average value of pork in November 2013 was US$2,652 per tonne, down 1.3% compared to the same month last year, where the average value was US$2,688 per tonne. Overall, the average value of pork during January to November 2013 was US$2,621 per tonne, up 1.93% compared to the same period in 2012, where the figure stood at US$2,572 per tonne.
