US Wisconsin's dairy production up 4.7% in November
Wisconsin's November milk production grew by 4.7% on-year, well above the national increase of 1%.
According to new government figures, America's Dairyland produced just less than 2.2 billion pounds of milk, while producers from around the country made almost 16 billion pounds.
California remains the nation's top milk producer, even though its output has been going down for most of the year. Golden State's November production slipped by another 2.3%, to about 3.7 billion pounds.
Wisconsin added 6,000 cows to its dairy herd in November, for a total of just over 1.25 million. The state's production per cow went up by around 70 pounds, to 1,730 per animal.
