Chinese methionine buyers hold back purchases as prices rise further
Prices of methionine moved higher during the week ending December 22.
Buyers withheld purchases as the high costs of the product were beyond acceptable levels.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine moved up to the range of RMB29-30.50/kg.
The supply of methionine is unlikely to increase in the coming weeks, whereas demand is expected to stay firm with the Chinese New Year approaching.
