Thai shrimp prices remain stable despite concern over foreign competitions (week ended Dec 19, 2013)
In the first 10 months of 2013, shrimp exports plummeted 38.4% in volume to 175,713 tonnes, and 28.89% in value to US$1.7 billion due to the shortfall in production. As prices rose quickly in response to the shortfall, the value of shrimp exports did not drop as much as the volume.
