Ukraine gathers 41.5 million tonnes grains in 2010
In the current year, Ukraine produced 41.5 million tonnes of grains in clean weight, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the average yield of grains and leguminous plants totalled 28.5c/ha this year as opposed to 31.2c/ha last year.
In the current year, agricultural enterprises of Vinnytsia and Odessa oblasts produced over three million tonnes of grains in each oblast whereas agricultural enterprises of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Nikolayev, Kiev, Poltava and Cherkasy oblasts over two million tonnes in each oblast.
In the current year, corn production in Ukraine totalled over 12 million tonnes, an increase of 1.8 million tonnes compared to 2009 results. In 2010, the average yield of the crop totalled 45.9c/ha, as opposed to 51c/ha in 2009. Ukraine also produced 1.7 million tonnes of soy, up 421,000 tonnes compared to last year results.
In 2009, Ukraine produced 46 million tonnes of grains and leguminous plants in clean weight, down 13.7% compared to 2008.
