Ukraine's pig population lowers in November

 

 

In November, the pig population in Ukraine fell by 1.4% or 122,700 heads compared with October, to 8,399,900 heads as of December 1, 2010, according to the State Statistics Service.

 

Pig population reduced by 1.9% or 93,100 heads compared to October, to 4,687,800 heads in private farms, and by 0.8% or 29,600 heads to 3,712,100 heads in specialised farms.

 

The pig population rose by 10.6% or 807,200 heads in contrast to December 1, 2009.

 

Specifically, pig population grew by 10.5% or 352,500 heads in specialised farms, and by 10.7% or 454,700 heads in private farms.

 

Local news reported that the pig population went up by 0.3% or 26,700 heads in October as compared with September, to 8,522,900 heads as of November 1, 2010.
