Landkom International reaps 100,000 tonnes grain in 2010
Landkom International Company, a Ukrainian producer of oil-bearing and grain crops, harvested 100,000 tonnes of grain in 2010.
In particular, the company harvested 3,146 tonnes of soy in the west of Ukraine, 10,927 tonnes of corn in the central part of Ukraine, and 327 tonnes of soy in the south of Ukraine.
As of mid May 2010, the company had 3,522 hectares under spring wheat crops in the central part of Ukraine but it did not disclose the harvest of the wheat.
According to the Ukrainian media, Landkom International expanded rapeseed harvest by 0.2% in 2010 in contrast to 2009, to 39,500 tonnes.
Landkom International sowed for the 2010 harvest spring crops on 18,584 hectares and winter crops on 24,000 hectares.
In 2009, the company boosted gross harvest of oil-bearing crops by 74.6% or by 16,845 tonnes, over 2008, to 39,437 tonnes.
Landkom International finished 2008 with a loss of US$56 million and the company finished 2009 with a loss of US$42 million.
The company expects to finish 2010 without losses.
