US cattle on feed down 5 percent on-year in November
          
 

Cattle and calves on feed totalled 2.02 million head in November, down 5 percent on-year.

 

Net placements in November reached 1.95 million head. During the month, placements of cattle and calves weighing less than 600 pounds were 565,000, 600-699 pounds were 630,000, 700-799 pounds were 450,000, and 800 pounds and heavier were 370,000.

 

Marketing of fed cattle in November totalled 1.58 million, down 9 percent on-year, the second lowest fed cattle marketing for November since the series began in 1996.

 

Other disappearance increased 18 percent on-year to 67,000 during November.

 

In addition, cattle and calves on feed for the US slaughter market for feedlots with capacity of 1,000 or more head totalled 11.3 million head on December 1, down 6 percent on-year.
