Price summary

Broiler prices were higher in most regions.

Market analysis

AA broiler

Prices of AA broilers rose amid tight supplies. However prices of day-old-chicks remained weak as demand remained sluggish.

China breed broiler

Prices of China breed broilers picked up in most regions despite outbreaks of bird flu in the southern regions. Nevertheless, the market in Sichuan remained weak due to slack demand.

Market forecast

Demand for broilers in the period approaching the New Year holidays will support prices to stay at current levels. However, the situation may change should there be more bird flu outbreaks.

RMB1= US$0.1460 (Dec 23)
