Stavropolsky Broiler completes biggest plant construction

Stavropolsky Broiler has finished the construction of its largest, RUB2-billion (US$65.06-million) meat plant in the Stavropol region, south of the country, a company official said Tuesday (Dec 21).

"The test launch is scheduled for March 2011," the official told RIA Novosti, adding the plant would produce up to 80,000 tonnes of poultry annually and help the company boost its annual output to 120,000 tonnes.

"The enterprise's overall output in 2010 amounted to about 49,000 tonnes of poultry, which exceeded the year-on-year volume by almost 5,000 tonnes," the official said.

He added that Stavropolsky Broiler's new plant would use the latest processing technologies, which would help the company make production waste-free and eco-friendly.

"Food waste will be used in the production of feed," the official said.
